Category: Poetry

Poetry is one of my passions. In my blog, I will publish poems which I wrote. Hence I opened a separate category for poetry.

During the years, I’ve read Italian, English, American, and French poems because, during my childhood, I learned those three languages. Only recently, I started writing poetry which I never wanted to publish. I believe that it is very personal to publish them.

Although I’m a physicist, I started to read poetry during high school, mainly in Italian and English. Only home I was reading French books. Indeed, the French language and literature were not in my school program.

Writing poetry is one of the most intimate ways to express feelings and moods. Time to time, I will publish poems.

  • Whispers Of The Night

    Whispers Of The Night

Whispers of the night weaved through the air,
In the shadowed hollows where moonlight faded,
Anguish clung to the mist, where darkness pervaded.

Desires fled through the labyrinth of memories,
Fragments of forgotten tales faded into the void,
Ghosts of sorrow and grief ruled the realm of dreams.

In the ancient trees, whispers conspired,
    A haunting melody of a long-lost lyre,
While the night unfolded like a cloak of inky velvet.

Stars shimmered like tears, never to turn back.
    Winds stroke harshly cobblestone paths,
Where time stood still, and anguish met.

Flickering lights of lost phantoms danced on endless nights,
Keeping gleaming secrets like crystal stones,
In the obscure realm where mysteries unfolded.

Sparkles of forgetfulness were scattered like shards of glass,
Reflecting on the past in a world of trespass,
Like eerie entities lingering in the cold embrace of the aether.

Whispers of the night through the veil of twilight,
Where shadows teased in the heart of darkness,
    And silence reigned supreme.

In the eerie melancholy of ancient vestiges,
Sighs hovered in the abyss of the night,
In the haunted clasp of fading light.

Beneath the veil of darkness’s shroud,
    Lights were entwined with shadows,
Lost in the labyrinth of time’s expanse.

The moon cast a spectral glow,
A luminescent guide through ethereal realms,
Where relics of eternity threaded their tales.

In the vault of silence, dreams arose,
Flying through the chambers of the imagination,
Where every spec of reality vanished.

The night held its breath, a pause in time,
As remembrances of the past waltzed with the present,
In the hallowed depths where phantoms roamed.

Hence, the night whispered its secrets,
In the language of stars and shadows,
Lost in the timeless fortress of the unknown.

  • Shadows Of Solitude

    Shadows Of Solitude

Shadows of solitude where darkness reigns,
    Lingering in silent strains,
Empty windows, eyes of the night,
    Reflecting stars, distant and bright.

Cobbled paths, worn by time’s embrace,
Whispers and sighs lost in space,
    A solitary lamp flickers low,
    Casting shadows in rhythmic flow.

    Eerie visions, where silence dwells,
    In gloomy hallways, ancient spells,
    Glimmers of a forgotten past,
    Haunting the present, ever steadfast.

A rustling of leaves, a petal in the air,
Echoes of tears, once so rare,
    Now melancholy, in every breath,
A dance of shadows, a waltz with death.

    Through shattered glasses, moonbeams glide,
    Painting canvases of dreams denied,
    In solitude’s embrace, dreams entwine,
With memories of a world left behind.

As dusk descends, the gardens sleep,
In shadows deep, where sorrow creeps,
    Light lamps flicker, casting gloom,
    On alleyways where secrets loom.

    Silent footsteps on cobblestones,
    Lone figures, walking alone,
    Paintings whisper stories boldly,
Of hearts once warm, now bitter cold.

Reflections in puddles, murky and dim,
    Joys remnants, now growing thin,
A distant siren breaks the night,
Eerie visions in the mansion’s plight.

    Sagomas behind windows, curtains drawn,
    Haunted by nightmares, now withdrawn,
    Lanterns hum a melancholy tune,
    Underneath the watching moon.

In this nocturnal landscape, shadows play,
A dance of longing, night and day,
Eerie visions of what might have been,
    In the twilight’s embrace, unseen.

  • A Forsaken Dream

    A Forsaken Dream

A forsaken dream of lost hopes,
In the deep ocean of despair and grief,
Limitless and was as the sky of darkness,
    Where silence reigned supreme,
And no solace would embrace the night,
    Yearning for the dawn’s advent.

In the stillness of the eternal obscurity,
Hope flickered like a distant star,
A beacon in the endless infinite,
    Guiding dreams toward twilight embrace,
    Through shadows and whispers,
In a maze of ashes and sorrows.

In the abyss of forsaken longings,
Where memories faded like autumn leaves,
Each tear fell from the tree of pain,
Carving its mark upon the time,
The sigil of a weary sigh,
Seeking refuge from the storm of delusions.

Amidst the ruins of shattered dreams,
    Lay the seed of despair,
Buried deep within the heart’s core,
Waiting for the doubt’s cruel touch,
    To bloom amidst the desolation,
A twisted flower of haunting sorrows.

The night became a canvas of untold horrors,
Painted with hues of melancholy and dread,
    Within its darkest shades,
Lay a promise of relentless torment,
Where light was but a fleeting ghost,
And shadows devoured the feeble glow.

    Through the valleys of despair,
    And the mountains of anguish,
    The ethereal dreams wandered, lost,
Guided by the whispers of forgotten dreads,
A chilling relic of what once was alive,
    That refused to fade away.

    In the realm of chimaeras,
Woven with threads of misery and pain,
Each moment was a dark stain,
In the intertwining of life and death,
Though the night might have seemed eternal,
The dawn was but an illusion,
Bringing with it the torment of false hope.

    Tears fell like acid rain,
    Corroding the seeds of hope,
    Embracing the night’s cold grasp,
For it was in the darkness,
That the stars burned with an eternal flame,
Leading dreams further into the abyss.

    In the emptiness of silence,
    As time faded,
A dirge of despair and hopelessness,
Emerged from the depths of sadness,
    A vision of endless nights.

  • The Unveiled Dreams Of The Night

The Unveiled Dreams Of The Night

The unveiled dreams of the night,
In the imperative silence and desolation,
    Gleamed an ephemeral light,
Enlightening the vast abyss of nothingness.

Whispered secrets were soft and slight,
In shadows cast by starlit constellations,
A firmament of luminaries, stitched tight,
Against the cold embrace of emptiness.

Through veils of time, they faded in flight,
Their fragile forms defied all limitations,
With wings of thought, they soared in the emptiness,
Embracing dawn with ethereal grace and soulful tenderness.

As morning broke, the dreams disappeared,
Beyond the reach of mortal contemplation,
    Leaving a trace, a spark, a sight,
A promise of eternal, boundless bliss.

Through the realm where fantasies ruled,
And imagination weaved in seamless manifestation,
The unveiled dreams of the night, as destiny intended,
Became the guiding stars of desires.

In the oblivion where longings were lost,
They ignited passions of bold determination,
And from the depths where darkness descended,
They rose a beacon of illumination.

At every moment, their essence transcended,
    Through cycles of dreams’ transformation,
In forbidden mazes where time halted,
In realms untouched by mortal grasp.

Across the vast expanse of infinite,
    Where dreams intertwined with illusions,
They painted the canvas of deception and betrayal,
In shadows cast by the echoes of their past.

As promises lingered in the void,
Tales of mystery and wonder were concealed,
In the chronicles of fate and death,
    Far from every congenial idea.

    Through hallways of forgotten spheres,
Where shadows weaved webs of forgotten lore,
Ancient mysteries lingered in their sombre embrace,
Time’s relentless march erased their trace.

In the silent embrace of the eternal dimness,
The unveiled dreams of the night found solace in their plight,
Guided by stars of flickering brightness,
Revealing secrets to the wandering souls in darkness.

Through unknown games of shadows and light,
Tales of the night thrived in elusive enigmas,
Etched in the firmament’s infinite height,
A symphony played by celestial drifters.

Beneath the gaze of everlasting flames,
The dreams, like phantoms, danced with fervour,
    Woven into an invisible maze,
Until they dissolved like tears in the rain.

Ethereal sparkles illuminated the void; in their ephemeral space,
In the midst of the eternal dimness that held no trace,
The unveiled dreams of the night illuminated the void,
    In their ephemeral space.

  • Concealed Dreams

    Concealed Dreams

    Concealed dreams,
    Fly through the night,
    Hidden in shadows,
    Beyond the reach of light.

    Beneath the surface,
    They quietly glow,
    Awaiting their moment,
    A chance to vanish.

    In secret labyrinths,
    Where fantasy resides,
    They bide their time,
    And silently glide.

    In the night realm,
    They softly tread,
    Planting seeds,
    In the fearless imagination.

    Concealed dreams,
    Yearn to be free,
    To break the chains,
    And sail the sea.

    With dawn’s first light,
    They start to rise,
    Unfolding their wings,
    To kiss the skies.

    No longer hidden,
    Their voices whisper,
    Transforming the world,
    With the joy they bring.

    Concealed dreams,
    Under starlit skies,
    Woven in sighs,
    Where the quiet lies.

    They dance in twilight,
    Where wishes are spun,
    In the deep of night,
    Away from the sun.

    These dreams are sacred,
    Held close and dear,
    Unseen by many,
    But ever so clear.

    In the stillness,
    They softly bloom,
    Casting away,
    The shadows of gloom.

    Silent and patient,
    They gather might,
    Awaiting the dawn,
    To embrace the light.

    With each longing,
    They gain their form,
    Defying the tempest,
    Braving the storm.

    Concealed dreams,
    find their voice,
    singing of bliss,
    and the power of loss.

    No longer subjugated,
    They find their might,
    Painting the heavens,
    With colours so bright.

    From the abyss,
    They rise and gleam,
    Shaping the infinite,
    From a silent desire.

  • Flowers Of Stone

    Flowers Of Stone

Flowers of stone shone under the stars,
In a moonless night of despair and anguish,
With a sense of emptiness after lost delights.

The future showed a promise of betrayal and death,
In the garden of obliviousness and disdain,
It could have been a sign of dust and destruction.

Flowers of bones lay beneath a hollow tree,
Ancient, like the empty sky quilted with tears and sighs,
Unpleasant to look at, as under a wicked spell.

A glimmering seal of dreams and illusions became the portal to endless magic,
Fading away like a cloud of smoke,
    Prematurely falling into the forgetfulness.

Magic madness to escape horror and dismay,
Casting spells over the infinite emptiness,
Where the imagination is the only saviour.

Stupor of mind when the darkness swallowed every light,
Hallucinations of ethereal beauty and mystical delight,
Lost in the labyrinth of dreams, where reality bent and twisted.

    Under the infinite gloominess,
Whispers of ancient lore filled the night,
    Weaving tales of yore,
While, in the stillness of shadows, dreams soared.

Stars shimmered above as a celestial vision of bliss,
And in the garden of time, echoes of memories were traced,
While arcane secrets were revealed in the wind’s embrace.

Amidst the murmuring trees, where shadows silently ruled,
Fragments of longings lingered in the night’s obscure realm,
In the abyss’s deepest caverns, memories were engraved.

    In the depths of solitude,
    Through the veil of illusion,
    Where time was excluded,
Mysteries lay secluded like flowers of stone inside a cryptic vault.

  • Exquisite Brilliance

    Exquisite Brilliance

Exquisite brilliance dawns upon the night,
A tempest of stars, a gentle gleam,
Whispering the secrets of their light,
In dreams, they weave a silent silver stream.

The moon, a sentinel in azure skies,
A crescent smile illuminates the earth,
Its tender glow reflects in phantoms’ eyes,
And breathes to life a symphony of mirth.

Beneath this firmament of endless stars,
A forest stands in tranquil, hushed repose,
The trees, like guardians of ancient scars,
Hold stories that the midnight breeze bestows.

The shadows swirl upon the forest floor,
As fireflies paint trails of golden hues,
A realm where myth and magic both explore,
And nature’s song sings softly of its ancient tales.

Upon a hill, a solitary pine,
Stands regal, etched against the dark abyss,
Its branches reach towards the line,
Where dawn will blaze its fervent, fiery arc.

Yet, in a fleeting, fragile hour of the night,
The realm of reality surrenders to a gentle grace,
Where time is paused and bathed in sacred light,
A moment stolen from the day’s fierce chase.

The waters of a silent, moonlit lake,
Reflect the splendour of the stars above,
Each wave reveals secrets that slowly wake,
While dreams and nightmares seek the tender touch of delight and despair.

And in this silent and metaphysical embrace,
The night reveals its wisdom, pure and true,
That even in the darkness, there’s a space,
For bright-and-dim to find its way and gently woo.

    Exquisite brilliance, fleeting as death,
Yet timeless in the memory it weaves,
A whisper of eternity, it leaves,
Echoing in the shadows, where silence breathes.

So, as the dawn prepares to claim its due,
Remembrance in the night’s serene expanse,
The brilliance lingers softly, bright and new,
A fleeting spark in night’s expansive trance.

  • In The Stillness Of The Night

In The Stillness Of The Night

In the stillness of the night,
    Murmurs stir in spectral light.
    Moonlight weaves through shadowed trees,
    Casting phantoms in the breeze.

    A faint sound, barely heard,
Echo is like a ghostly word.
Fog creeps low upon the ground,
    Silent secrets, none profound.

Graves stand guard in solemn rows,
Beneath them, tales of sorrow flow.
    Marble cold and weathered grey,
    Hides the regrets of yesterday.

    Raven’s caw, a haunting cry,
    Pierces through the midnight sky.
Wings as dark as most bottomless voids,
On cursed winds, the air devoid.

    In the forest, shadows play,
    Dancing where the moonbeams stray.
Eyes that gleam with hidden spite,
Glimmer in the pitch of the night.

An old house, a forgotten place,
Windows stares with a hollow face.
Doors that creak in mournful sighs,
    Shelter memories that won’t die.

    Candles flicker in the gloom,
    Fighting darkness that they loom.
Ancient clocks tick slowly and fast,
    Counting down to moments past.

The mirror’s surface, cold and clear,
    Reflects not the living here.
Figures move when none are near,
    Silent screams you cannot hear.

Steps that lead to nowhere known,
Winding paths of moss and stone.
Ghostly forms that roam and rove,
Searching for what they once called home.

In the distance, bells toll low,
Marking time where none can go.
Each chime a whisper, soft and thin,
    Inviting all the shadows in.

And as the night claims all in sight,
    Darkness reigns with quiet might.
In this realm where fear holds sway,
    Eternity and night will stay.

So heed the warnings, keep them near,
For the night holds more than fear.
In the depths where shadows blend,
Lies are a place where dreams descend.
    Esther Elizabeth Racah

  • The Obliviousness Of Dreams

    The Obliviousness Of Dreams

The obliviousness of dreams as a vanishing vision,
In the silent whispers of the night,
Where shadows dance through the soft moonlight,
In realms where stars blaze with secret flames.

Beneath the veil of slumber’s grace,
Where time and space lose their place,
Darkness wanders through a boundless space,
Hunting desires and dreams free to chase.

The echoes of a forsaken elegy,
In nightmares, they softly drift along,
A gasp, both faint and strong,
Where lost enigmas feel they truly belong.

    Mountains rise, and rivers bend,
In lands where imagination can extend,
A kingdom where sorrows strive to find an end,
And the broken eternity begins to mend.

In shadows cast by towering trees,
Butterflies glide upon the mystic breeze,
In oblivion, no place for truths with ease,
Lost in realms where falsehoods tease.

The longings became enslaved of grief,
At night, they appear so quickly,
In shadowed halls where sighs roam free,
Whose presence brings only silent glee.

The obliviousness of dreams, so pure,
Where every ailment finds its cure,
A place where all is unstable and unsure,
    In a gentle, endless adventure.

When dawn arrives, with the dimness so light,
    Dispelling dreams in morning’s sight,
In the realms of night, luminaries gleam with gentle sway,
While dreams dissolve and fade away.

A cherished thought and a golden beam,
A memory of the nightly stream,
In the obliviousness where dreams convene,
Lost in a world where illusions intervene.
    Esther Elizabeth Racah

  • The Wraiths Of The Beyond

    The Wraiths Of The Beyond

    The wraiths of the beyond,
In realms far away from the waking thought,
Where spirits of the past are caught,
A silent wail, a mournful cry,
    Reverberates through the midnight sky.

The moon casts down a silver tear,
Upon a world entwined in fear,
Where restless souls in shadows wade,
And memories of the living fade.

In ghostly halls of ancient stone,
Where whispers chill every chamber and throne,
The spectral wraiths begin their dance,
    In macabre, hypnotic trance.

Their forms, ethereal, shift and sway,
In rhythms that the dark obeys,
With eyes like voids, they seek the light,
After they fled from their eternal night.

    Through mazes of lost despair,
They glide upon the aether unfair,
Each step a pulse of silent dread,
A reminder of a nameless dead.

An echo from the abyss of gloom,
Where time forgets to thread its loom,
Resounds through hollows cold and vast,
A remnant of a tragic past.

Their laments rise in eerie song,
A dirge of all that went so wrong,
Of hopes that crumbled into dust,
Of dreams that shattered into rust.

    In their mournful, haunting wail,
    A hidden enigma is concealed,
A glimpse of what awaits the stars all,
    Beyond the mortal curtain’s fall.

For death is but a passageway,
To realms where shadows hold their sway,
And in the darkness, truths are found,
Where light has never touched the ground.

The wraiths return to shadows deep,
    To fade into eternal sleep,
But still, their shadow lingers near,
A haunting touch of spectral fear.

And as the sun begins to rise,
    The darkness whispers its goodbyes,
Yet, in the heart, an echo stays,
A ghostly whisper through the days.
