  • The Restlessness Of The Night

    The Restlessness Of The Night

The restlessness of the night never left my quiet chamber adorned with ancient mirrors and candles extinguished by the freezing wind of the darkness.
The silence helped my nightmares discourage my heart from holding dear its long-coveted desires.
Henceforth, I tried not to panic when I realised that I couldn’t find any image of myself in the mirrors of my antique manor.
Not even a portrait was there and each time I tried to perceive my countenance, all I could discover was a box full of sand and decay.
The hours sang an elegy for the passing of the night that was infinite and determined to rule hegemony in the realm of my bizarre fantasies and odd revelations.
Magic dreams were only faraway illusions that had been bestowed to me once again only to be left in the abyss of despair with nothing but my vest full of sand and decay.

The restlessness of the night offered me the goblet of eternal torment, alluring me with fairy tales and foolish legends.
I wished to become an invisible creature of the gloomy night, however, I could do nothing but observe my name inscribed on every wall and book that I had encountered.
No importance was given to my will since the day I was born beneath the hollow trees of dismay.
The stars manifested their disregard for me, leaving me in my senseless loneliness, at the mercy of the raging storms that would have swept me away.
In vain, I claimed my liberty from that misfortune, but they came to claim me and all that once was mine, the ghouls from the archaic world of my past misadventures.
Perhaps I could have forgotten the sensations of delight and gentle euphoria.
The restlessness of the night had become the portal to my agony and everlasting grief, which never abandoned my aching heart.

  • Where Shadows Bloom

    Where Shadows Bloom

Where shadows bloom and feast I plunge into the pond of sorrow with my eyes full of tears and my heart emptied by the storm of oblivion.

The impetuous wind that had welcomed me earlier became a gentle breeze, stroking the night flowers and leaving a trail of night scent.

In vain, I attempted to reach the stars, but the only thing that remained in my hands was a rag from one of my dresses as a memento of what I was but not anymore.

The night has passed as quickly as the flow of a raging river that sweeps away its banks. My heart couldn’t hear its own heartbeat as if it were in a chest in the deepest abyss of the ocean.

Where shadows bloom and celebrate my defeat like in an endless chess game, I obeyed my fatal fortune, which purposely forgot to grant me even the tiniest wish.

The cage of my memories reappeared, holding my desires as captives in its golden entanglement, sparkling bright beneath the full moon, whose light lit the night like blazing butterflies.

The glimmering butterflies enflamed each flower of the enchanted forest, which glowed like a treasure chest filled with precious gems.

All of a sudden, I shirked the anguishes that had haunted my heart like ubiquitous phantoms, and I lost all my caution, embracing the unknown darkness.

As I wandered farther into the darkness, I could hear the tumultuous waters of the river, which carried away the last fragments of my forsaken sorrow.

The blooming shadows had become my loyal guides in my trembling fate, no longer my fears. Secretly sealed portals were locking the relics of my lost dreams.

The gloomy clouds kept me from glancing at the stars, hiding them beneath their celestial veil.
At last, I remained in my lonely quietude, not waiting for anything to happen, not even the next sunrise.

  • My Sleepless Nights

    My Sleepless Nights

My sleepless nights made of grief and regret ensnared me in their murky web, as if to subjugate me to their languid call toward an abyss of misery and anguish. The ocean chanted an elegy for my solemn sorrow, almost as if to ceremoniously celebrate my distress. And even the birds couldn’t help but pity me as my dismay was conspicuous like the ocean waves.

The abyss of shadows welcomed me as if I were destined to lose every wish and hope, for I felt the bitterness of my fate, whose manifestation of generosity took the form of painful anguish. From my tears grew anger and vengeance like evergreen flowers. Memories kept being unwelcome intruders, not leaving me alone even during my peaceful sleep.

The bells of a forsaken chapel rang like spectres of the night, and I felt the solitude grasping me with its intangible strength, as if it wanted me to be part of its deserted realm of invisible and silent creatures. As I proceeded in exhaustion and haze, I couldn’t perceive the sight of the stars, which the gloomy clouds hid behind their majestic veil.

My sleepless nights were not over yet since they had become an endless eternity made of frail dreams and broken promises. Softly the sea breeze stretched the branches of withered trees toward me like arms willing to hug me in their emptiness. A sudden rainfall caused me to lose my route and I became entangled in a secret garden.

In vain I summoned spirits and ghosts to grant me some sort of furlough from my disastrous and tumultuous fortune, which led me to ancient ruins where no dreams were allowed to manifest, leaving me with decayed fragments of elegies that seemed like interrupted magic spells. After all I suffered in my sleepless nights, I had become darkness. And there was no beginning or end in that vast expanse full of sacred oblivion.

  • The Sun Of Dismay

    The Sun Of Dismay

The Sun of dismay irradiated its glowing rays of light all over me, as if I were not aware enough of my cruel fate. I wish I could have escaped from that hostile destiny, but I was bound to it by an eternal oath.

My sighs and tears could not arrest that tragic scenario poised to, all of a sudden, dismiss the totality of my most cherished dreams. Not even the nighttime legends and fairy tales could divert my attention.

The nocturnal echoes of the barn owls and nightjars interrupted my silent contemplation, every time I stared at the moon from my balcony adorned with ancient finds and magical manuscripts.

Beyond the horizon, I was not able to catch sight of anything else but my dreadful fears that filled my heart with a bitter anguish. And suddenly a freezing wind rose, freezing all the mirrors of my antique mansion.

The Sun of dismay didn’t appear anymore since the day I had decided to fall in love with my regrets and solitude. Nevertheless, far away, cast away from my memories, an obsolete shadow kept haunting the peaceful realm of my thoughts.

No candle dared to illuminate the darkness that dwelled in my realm of nightmares and oddities. My reflection in broken mirrors made me perceive that I was an evanescent hologram of my own imagination.

Was all that real or just a dream? A rocambolesque confusion suddenly struck me like a purely casual event. Surreal was everything I ever dreamed of and mostly the suspense of my bizarre fate.

My invisibility was my strength and the loneliness swarming around me tempted me to surrender to every hesitation of mine, even when the Sun of dismay persisted in materialising like an unexpected ghost.

All my wishes vanished and they were replaced by restlessness in the shape of ghouls wandering in the endless labyrinth of my chance, where destiny and randomness became indistinguishable.

  • Spells And Dreams

    Spells And Dreams

Spells and dreams livened the garden of the night
My words became ghosts, haunting me like tormenting nightmares
Even the frost of the winter night couldn’t have awakened me from my eternal slumber

Indeed, I had fallen under the spell of a vicious enchantment
Magic ruled my existence, in the shape of books and arcane tales
I couldn’t avoid attending the alluring visitation that hypnotised me like a magic exhibition

Delightful flowers fell all over me, and my heart was filled with dazzling delight
The night dew doused all the captivating blossoms of my garden
Love would never perish within my heart, as I embodied my untamed passions

Spells and dreams visited every night of mine
They came in the guise of phantoms and demons, though they were not always nightmares
It was a surprising and astonishing fairy tale

I slowly succumbed to the spirits’ enticing allure
For I was naïve and oblivious of the consequences
I let these haunting creatures follow me and enfold me with all their might

And even if it was mere foolishness, my fate was entangled with darkness and doom
I was strangely joyous about this bizarre and painful outcome
Merriment and wisdom faded away, supplanted by perils and folly

I chose to devote myself entirely to a realm where my heart was all flames and storms
Where rose thorns pierced me with silent and merciless severity, like feathers of torment
This garden of mine was no longer a wonderland

All the flowers had turned garnet
They drained life from my heart, and I grew weaker and weaker
I faded from my own folly, consumed by my desires and chasing meaningless longings

The stars had already been eclipsed by the tempestuous sky
The shadow prevailed in a bleak and ominous stillness
I was surrounded by the fierce wraiths of gloom
Their indifferent gazes traced the collapse of my heart
And in deafening silence, I remained within my sorrow.
